The Apple Springs Eagles recorded a decisive victory last Friday night as they hosted district rival Chester High School. Lane Spring rushed for 361yards on 21 carries and had two rushing touchdowns. Spring threw for 139 yards and three scores. Blayne Coleman also went 3 for 3 passing and 36 yards. Tristen Davis, Jayvan Aycock and Drayden Tullos all had touchdown grabs for the Eagles. Tullos and Ethan Hollis also recorded one rushing touchdown each on the night. Mason Suggs added 20 more rushing yards and Reese White connected on with Suggs on his only pass attempt.
The Eagle defense was very stingy throughout the contest, stopping the Chester offense on 10 different drives. Tristen Davis and Ethan Hollis recorded 10 and 9 tackles respectfully. Davis also caused two fumbles and had one interception. Hollis forced the Chester quarterback back in his own end zone to register a safety. Cameron Duke and Ethan Karber both had interceptions on the night.
The Special Teams unit for Apple Springs played exceptionally well. Drayden Tullos added a total of 8 points on PAT attempts. Additionally, Cameron Duke recovered an on-side kick and Ethan Hollis blocked the only extra point kick by the Yellowjackets. The final score was Apple Springs 52, Chester 13. The Eagles will wrap up their season on November 10 when they travel to Leveretts Chapel High School. Kick-Off is set for 7:30pm.
