About Us

MISSION STATEMENT

Based on the belief that school exists for the sole purpose of educating children, the mission of the Apple Springs Independent School District is to challenge all students academically, physically, socially, and emotionally to achieve their greatest potential. Developing respect for self and others will enable students to effectively manage change and promote lifelong learning.

As Apple Springs ISD embarks into the 21st Century, technology and its applications will enable the facilitation of learning amid a caring and cooperative atmosphere. Apple Springs ISD will be responsible for accomplishing this mission in a safe, orderly environment provided by a competent, dedicated, professional staff, in partnership with supportive parents, and community.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The Apple Springs Independent School District has been in existence for almost 100 years. Located among the pines, deep in the heart of the Davy Crockett National Forest, Apple Springs has always been a place that has stressed the importance of a good education. Traditionally, Apple Springs ISD has been recognized as a school district with high achievement in academics as well as extracurricular activities evidenced by numerous awards including State Championships in UIL Academic Competitions (Current Events, Persuasive Speaking), Athletics (Baseball), and FFA (Judging Teams). Although a small, rural district, Apple Springs ISD is able to offer many of the opportunities generally limited to much larger schools. The technology available at Apple Springs ISD rivals that of any district across the state with Mimeo interactive white boards, Elmo digital cameras, projectors, and numerous computers in practically every classroom. The faculty consists of a proven group of educators with an average of over 16 years of experience. In addition, Apple Springs High School has been rated by US News & World Report magazine as one of the best in the nation. The television show "Texas Country Reporter" also featured Apple Springs ISD and its unique football/band relationship with neighboring Hudson ISD.

With a wonderful faculty and staff, a group of outstanding students and a caring and supportive community, Apple Springs ISD has been, and will continue to be, one of the best school districts anywhere in the state!
